Start of the very last Grand Prix to be held on the long Francorchamps track, 1970 Belgian Grand Prix
if only the organisers would’ve budged a little bit, the racing could’ve continued for a few more years, but off course the faith was sealed on tracks like Francorchamps & by the middle of the decade even ‘minor’ series like the World Championship for Makes stopped racing at the old track
and by ‘78 it was all over for the 14km long track, the last major events held on it that year were the Belgian 500cc Grand Prix & the 24 Heures de Spa. The new track was introduced in ‘79, immediately adopted by the motorcycle world championship & by ‘83 F1 would return as well
